Jay Rock - Follow Me Home In Stores Now

Strange Music's Jay Rock debut album Follow Me Home, has finally hit stores today. Jay Rock found a home at Strange Music and through his TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) team, his long awaited debut has surfaced. Jay Rock is from Watts, California and has brought his west coast music to Strange. Jay Rock joins Brotha Lynch Hung as the two west coast artists from Strange Music.

Jay Rock's album has some big name features such as; Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Chris Brown and of course Tech N9ne. "All My Life" featuring Lil Wayne, has been out for nearly two years and still has an impact. "Hood Gone Love It" is another single off Follow Me Home. You can purchase the album here.

I received my pre order today from Strange Music and will have a full review on Jay Rock's debut album later this week. Here the videos for "All My Life" and "Say Wassup"

Irv Da Phenom - Dream Big Hustle Hard

Kansas City's own Irv Da Phenom is making some noise in the music industry. Touring and being featured with Strange Music artists has created a buzz for Irv Da Phenom. Songs like "Hunterish" and "Need More Angels" from Tech N9ne's albums, show his versatility as an artist. Partnered with Def Metal Gospel, Irv has released a plethora of mixtapes. His latest Dream Big Hustle Hard, has gained the attention of many hip hop sites and led to rumors of Irv possibly signing with Strange Music. His biggest song off of DBHH, "Red and Yellow" is an anthem for the Kansas City Chiefs. "Toyota Mode" tells us that Irv is not slowing down anytime soon.

I am interested to see the progression of Irv Da Phenom and hope Strange Music brings him in the family. Irv would bring a different taste to Strange Music and possibly be a big artist for them. You can catch Irv on tour soon and get any merchandise off his website. Here is a download link for his latest mixtape DBHH (click here) Here is a couple of songs of DBHH.

Royals Midseason Report

Usually there is not many positives you can take from a last place team, but there are some bright spots. The Royals (37-54) are in last place in the AL Central, 11.5 games out of first. Our young talent looks promising and I believe the Royals are finally making strides to put a good product on the field. It will depend on our young players continually developing and becoming good players in the future. Hosmer, Moustakas, Escobar, are just a few, who give the Royals a promising future. I believe these players have the talent to eventually become all stars in Kansas City. Alex Gordon is another bright spot this year and should have been an all star. A lot of people including me had written him off and this year he seems to becoming the player we thought he could be. Relief pitcher Aaron Crow is also been a bright spot and earned him a trip to his first ever all star game. However, he has been the only bright spot in our pitchers.

Our starting pitching continues to be one of the worst in the league. Until the Royals due something about this situation, we will continue to struggle. Bruce Chen is looking like our ace and Kyle Davies is looking like garbage to be quite frank. Soria is still doing a good job as our closer even with the rough patch early in the year. The starting pitching is my only complaint so far midway through the season.

I know Royals fans are getting tired of going through terrible seasons year after year, but I believe we are turning the corner. The growing pains through the rest of the way will hurt and we will probably continue to struggle. I am optimistic and these growing pains will fade and "NEXT" year the Royals will be competitive.
